Candle Safety & Instructions

Candle Safety & Usage Instructions

  • When lighting your candle for the first time, let it burn for at least two hours so the wax melts all the way to the edges. This prevents tunneling. Always place your candle on a flat, stable surface.

  • Each time you relight your candle, trim any excess burnt wood from the wick to maintain a steady flame. Ideally, the wick should sit about 4 mm above the wax.

  • Keep your candle away from drafts or open windows to avoid soot buildup and to maintain its burn time.

  • Never leave your candle unattended or burn it while sleeping.

  • Stop burning your candle when only 6 mm of wax remains.

  • Keep your candle away from other heat sources and open flames to prevent overheating or accidents.

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets. May cause allergic reactions—if this happens, extinguish immediately and seek medical attention. Do not ingest.

  • Ensure your candle is completely extinguished before leaving the room, as the wooden wick may continue to glow for a short time after extinguishing.

What types of items do you offer?

We carry everything from handmade scented candles created during invocation and rites, ritual candles, vintage jewellery and incense.

How can I track my order?

Once shipped, you’ll receive a tracking number via email to monitor your delivery.

We ship to most countries worldwide with secure and timely delivery options. All orders are shipped from Sweden. 

Can I return or exchange a product?

We do not accept returns or exchanges. If an item is damaged please contact us and we will help you!

What can I expect from a tarot reading?

A tarot reading is different for everyone. I typically don’t offer general readings, but if this is something you would wish reach out to me. 
I specialise in ancestral readings where I contact your ancestors for any messages they have for you. 

I also offer spiritual guidance readings where we look at what to focus on in your spiritual practice. 

What do your candles contain?

Our candles contain 100% organic rapeseed and coconut wax, wooden wick and fragrance oils. Some candles contain dried herbs and florals.

Are your candles safe to use if I have pets? 

Yes! As we do not use essential oils in our candles, you can use our scented candles with a clear conscience without worrying about your furry friends. 

How are your candles made? 

At Ockult Shop, safety and quality are fundamental in our products. All our candles are vegan and made with 100% natural and sustainable coconut and rapeseed wax. Unlike other types of waxes, coconut and rapeseed wax does not release any bad chemicals as it is a completely organic and natural wax. All our fragrance oils are IFRA certified and contain no phthalates. The manufacture of candles is a chemical process and therefore we are very mindful with which components we use in our products. 

What is IFRA?

IFRA stands for “International Fragrance Association” whose mission is to certify perfume and fragrance oil manufacturers. IFRA controls and sets standards for fragrance safety. If you want to read more about IFRA standards, you can do so here.

Why don't you use essential oils in your candles? 

Essential oils are a concentrated oil made from plants, fruits and roots. Essential oils often do not do well in scented candles as they rarely smell particularly strong and have difficulty binding to the wax. The scent can become distorted and smell strange.
Essential oils should also be used with caution as many of them in high concentration can be harmful to humans and animals. Inhaling essential oils can cause respiratory irritation and some types are toxic for us to inhale. Some of our incense blends contain safe to inhale essential oils.

Do you offer testers?

Unfortunately not, but Ve & Fasa in Stockholm offers a few of my candles in their physical store.

Shipping

After you have completed your purchase, we will send an order confirmation to your email. If you need to make changes to your order, you must contact us within 2 hours for the changes to be implemented. When your order has been shipped, you will receive another email with delivery confirmation. Our delivery times vary depending on public holidays and public holidays. Expected delivery time within Sweden is 2-5 working days.

Delivery of printed items such as clothes, tote bags and mugs takes place through Printful. Delivery is approximately 10 days to Sweden for these products.

The delivery time can be extended in case of force majeure or holidays. For questions about delivery, you can contact Ockult Shop.

Open purchase and Right of Withdrawal (Öppet köp och ångerrätt)

When you shop via the Internet in Sweden, the Consumer Purchase and Distance Contracts Act applies. This law protects you as a consumer when you make purchases remotely. The Swedish Consumer Agency has more information.

You have a 14-day right of withdrawal on all goods that are not specially made for the consumer. The item must be returned in the same condition as when it was delivered to the consumer. The customer is responsible for shipping costs in case of right of withdrawal and complaint. No right of withdrawal applies to digital files.

We do not have open purchase or exchange rights. You can always put in a claim for an item if it is damaged. In case of right of withdrawal, you must present a receipt that the item was purchased from us. Contact us and we will send you a cancellation form.  

All fraud attempts are reported to the police and we reserve the right to cancel a purchase if fraud is suspected.

Currency & Prices

All prices in the store are stated in Swedish kronor (SEK). Store prices apply unless otherwise agreed. We reserve the right to change prices without notice, depending on exchange rates, postage costs, overheads, etc. All orders are packed and documented before they are sent to the customer.

Safety

Always seek medical attention first before turning to metaphysics and crystals. The properties of crystals are not scientifically proven, they are beautiful but do not cure mental or physical disease, if you feel unwell or are ill, consult a doctor.

Payment

Payment is made by credit card or invoice. Ockult Shop uses Woo Commerce payment method. If you want to pay with Swish, please contact us to use it as a payment method.

Sale & Promotions

Sale and promotion codes cannot be combined with other offers. You can use a promotional code by entering the code at checkout before paying. ​

Services and Digital files

In the case of a booked Tarot reading, the right of withdrawal applies from the day after the agreement was concluded. The right of withdrawal does not apply if the service has been performed. When purchasing digital files such as PDFs, there is no right of withdrawal if the purchase has been made.

We mainly process your name, social security number, address and contact details, bank account.

In some situations, it is necessary for us to engage other parties. For example accountants. They are then personal data assistants for us. We check personal data processors to ensure that they guarantee the security and confidentiality of personal data. When personal data assistants are engaged, it is only for the purposes that are compatible with the purposes we ourselves have for the processing.

Actors who are independently responsible for personal data
We also share your personal data with certain other actors who are independent personal data controllers, for example authorities such as the Swedish Tax Agency, when we are obliged to disclose such data based on law or authority decision. When your personal data is shared with an actor who is an independent personal data controller, that organization’s privacy policy and personal data management apply.

How long do we store your personal data?
We never save your personal data longer than is necessary for the respective purpose. Due to legislation, certain information in the bookkeeping, for example, needs to be saved for at least seven years.
